Fenty Pro Filt’r Foundation

Rihanna is one of the current top icons in terms of fashion and style. When she dropped her makeup line, the whole world was shook. Everyone was eager to get their hands on her line and everyone was raving about it.

Even the beginners.

I’m not a huge fan of foundation, I would rather go out with just powder and lipstick and mascara because whatever I do and whatever I try, I just cant find the right base for me. So this is the quest to find the perfect base that even beginners can use.

Is Fenty beauty the answer to our problems? Is fenty beauty for makeup dummies like me?

This is another “I just have the deluxe sample size” kind of review but the packaging for the sample size is the same with the full size only smaller.

It comes in a glass tube with a plastic cover and pump to dispense the product.

Plus points for the pump for being hygienic and I love the minimalist vibe that it has with the translucent and white combination.

This is my face without foundation:

I have a few pimple marks and a little bit of redness around my nose. I also have discoloration all over my face.

Comparing between the left and right side, it did even out my skin tone and covered the redness and pimple marks. However, the claims of it being pore-diffusing wasn’t fully satisfied.

It’s definitely shine-free and smooth.

Other products sat on the skin well with this product. However when I applied my liquid highlighter with my hand, I think it moved a little but using a damp sponge to patch it up was a good solution.

I wore this on a sunday when I had a meeting in the clinic I’m working in. I applied the foundation around 7:30am and it looked like this.

It’s important to note that I did not set this with powder. Then I applied the rest of my makeup and finished up around 8:00am

On my face: base: fenty pro filtr foundation, clio kill cover concealer in shade 3, hoola bronzer, detail blush in innocence, lol highlighter , loreal lash paradise , the faceshop eyebrow , it’s eyetime pixi x itsjudytime eyeshadow , kailijumei and sugar tint in pillow talk

At 10:40am I blotted and saw that it had moderate transfer on the tissue I blotted with.

It looked like this

On camera the foundation still looks nice but I saw that it caked a little around my undereye area. I placed a little concealer on that part but I trust my concealer and it almost never creases. The foundation also oxidized and it looked like my undereye was too brightened and it had a floating whitecast on it.

The meeting finished around 12 and we had our lunch. My friend and I went out to do a little shopping and the foundation looked like this at 2:00pm

Around this time, on camera it still looked fine. It feels a little “heavier” than before but this isn’t something that’s concerning.

Going home at 4:00pm after the mass, the foundation emphasized the texture on my skin. I also noticed that it settled on my pores. However, my skin still looked even.

This is a little pricey with each bottle being 34 USD and around 1900 pesos in the Philippines.

Overall thoughts

This foundation claims the following

  • instantly smoothens
  • pore-diffused
  • shine-free finish
  • medium to full coverage
  • climate-adaptive technology that’s resistant to sweat and humidity, and won’t clog pores
  •  longwearing
  • Light as air

It definitely smoothens the skin, is shine-free and light weight. It is longwearing although it fades and oxidizes through the day. It just happened that when it oxidized, it matched my skin better. It is medium to full coverage, a damp sponge will sheer it out and I suggest using a brush. It did not diffuse my pores and I felt that it did clog my pores. It’s so-so with the climate adaptive technology. It felt a little heavier through the day but it’s not something that would be bothering. Setting it with powder will probably help.

Is it worth it? It’s worth the try. It might work on combination to oily skin and a well moisturized dry skin. Is it beginner friendly? It could be. It’s not hard to work with and it’s easy to blend.

  1. Might I recommend the foundation Huda Beauty or the Estée Lauder double wear foundation. I have very oily skin so foundations often come off for me to. I found with these two they last forever. I also found putting on press powered BEFORE you apply the foundation stops your face from getting all shiney and keeps the foundation on all day and night. I did this once for an event. Fell asleep in my make up and woke up the next day and it looked like I just put it on 😂
