15 days of lipsticks: too faced melted latex

I was actually supposed to try another lipstick for the day when I reviewed this but it looked too sheer for my simple look that’s why I grabbed this. I loved the color and I’ve always wanted to try too faced’s melted liquid lipstick. However, I was shocked to see that this is the latex variant which to be honest, I haven’t heard of since I got this.

Product description:

Melted Latex redefines lips with a honey-like texture that ensures gloss clings to lips with a latex shine. Doe-foot applicator comfortably coats in bursts of intense, buildable, lacquered color that lasts for hours.

  • Exclusive technology keeps high-shine lipsticks liquid for longer wear
  • High-impact, super-rich, saturated pigment offers lacquer-like vibrancy and juicy shine
  • Stays saturated with color
  • Doe-foot applicator allows for precise application
  • Can be used with Melted Latex Topper, Girl On Top, for even more shine and gloss

description from too faced’s website

It comes in a glass tube with a black top with gold lining. The logo of too faced and “Melted” is written in front. The packaging is clear so you can see the product’s color inside.

According to Too Faced’s website, this retails for $21 each. This isn’t actually locally available, even through shoppee and yeah, that’s probably why I haven’t heard of this product before. I was just familiar with the matte variant.

It comes with a pointed doe foot applicator which allows you to reach the corners of your lips. It is a one coat wonder but then the texture of this product is a little too thick, too viscous for me that it feels like spreading glue on your lips. You also need to dip twice, one for your bottom lips and one for the top lip.

I hated the feel of this product. On top of not being a fan of glosses, the texture of this product just feels too heavy and gross to me. As I have said, this feels like glue on your lips. It felt sticky throughout the day too. I can feel that I am wearing something, and something heavy at that the entire time. I can’t say it’s something that won’t bother you because to be honest, I got too bothered and annoyed that I didn’t re-apply (which I usually do especially on days when I’m reviewing something).

It smells like grapes to me, a little like those packed grape juice. The smell isn’t too overpowering, in fact you have to smell the product directly to smell instead of just smelling it upon application.

color payoff

I can say hands down to the color payoff. True to it’s description, it’s high shine and the color payoff is stunning.  It looks like the spandex material they use on the body suits. My lips looked plastic. :))

photo above: first application

Being a gloss, I wasn’t expecting anything from this. I knew that it would rub off at some point but in all fairness, it did leave a decent stain on my lips. Not the kind which would have no color in the inner lips and just an outline on the outer edges of your lips.

It transfers all over! Being in the work that I am, I have to drink lots of water to be hydrated, it transferred all over my water bottle and even smudged above my lips and on my chin.

photo above: after drinking it looked like a I’m wearing lip stain

photo above: color smudged above my lips

ps. sorry for the blurry and against the light photo

Photo above: smudging on the outer corner of my lips

Overall thoughts:

This product didn’t work for me, I hated how it feels and how it transferred too much. The smudging was also no bueno since I talk to different people and presenting yourself well is important. It feels heavy and despite having the bomb color payoff, I don’t think this is worth it.

one out of 5 stars for me.

15 days of lipstick: Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Creme

To be honest, I am not that excited with this one mainly because it’s a bullet lipstick. However, this one is actually a good one.

Product description

What it is:
A rich, creamy lipstick that redefines luxury with instant indulgent color while providing 10 hours of wear.

What it does:
Indulge lips with a color-rich, creamy lipstick in a sleek black case. In just one sensual swipe, Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick delivers indulgent color that lasts all day long. The unprecedented color payoff comes from concentrated color-boosting pigments that are triple-milled and enriched with hydrating ingredients—imparting ultimate long-lasting color and moisture. Your lips will feel instantly plumped and nourished from powerful peptides, antioxidant-rich seaberry, and natural humectants, including meranti and cocoa butter. Its subtle vanilla taste and scent mimic a decadent dessert. Just snap the case shut and hear a satisfying click, which Marc Jacobs describes as “the sound of luxury.”

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates

Full size price from Sephora US website is $24.00

Mine is actually a deluxe sample size which makes it really cute. It’s in a regular twistable thing but it’s in an oval cylinder (if that makes sense).

This applies evenly with one swipe. No concerns with the tip of the bullet lipstick but nothing spectacular either. It applies as any bullet lipstick would.

It feels hydrating as it’s not a matte lipstick. It didn’t have a scent to it which is okay for me.

Color payoff

It’s a full coverage lipstick. I was able to get the full opacity with just one swipe which is always a bonus.

Photo above: upon first application

Just as expected, this works just like any other bullet lipstick. It’s not transferproof and it’s gone by the end of your meal (or when you drink lots of water or wiped your mouth).

Overall thoughts

Not a huge fan of this. I don’t like investing in regular bullet lipstick because it’s not long lasting and I have a tendency to smear it all over my chin when I eat and drink. It feels comfortable and is full coverage, nonetheless.

15 days of lipstick: Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain

Sephora’s own line of makeup is so-so for me. It’s not the best but it’s not the worst either. However the color of this one is gorgeous. I wasn’t too excited about these but it’s still lipstick and it’s still gorgeous.

Product description

What it is:

A silky, long-lasting lip stain that keeps lips covered with bold colour, morning and night.

What it does:

Say goodbye to touch ups— there no need to reapply throughout the day with this long-lasting, stay-put lip stain. The bestseller delivers high-coverage lip colour that glides on smooth and transforms from a creamy texture into a silky, lightweight stain. Infused with avocado oil and vitamin E, the rich formula feels comfortable, is never sticky, and won’t dry out lips.

It costs 779.00 Pesos in Sephora PH website.

Out of all the deluxe sample sizes, this one is the smallest. It’s almost the size of a peso (it’s just taller because of the cap).

It comes in a clear plastick tube with a black cap where the doe foot applicator is attached. The visible color matches the color of the product.

It did apply smoothly and the doe foot applicator is a bit rounded which makes it easy to reach even the corner of your lips. No concerns with application.

It doesn’t feel too drying but it is a bit heavy on the lips. It also has a strong vanilla cupcake-y scent to it which lingers until the product dries out.

Color payoff

The color payoff is stunning! It’s one of those one swipe goodness kind of things and it’s not patchy at all! I can say that the major pro of this product is the color payoff.

It dries out like a liquid lipstick but it transfers. I saw that there was a red ring around my upper lip since I drink from my tumbler.

It also feathered and faded when I ate but it still left product and color on the outer edges of my lips.

Photo above: lipstick after eating lunch.

Reapplication felt fine, it didn’t change the feel of the product whatsoever. 🙂

< i>Photo above: a little bit of transfer when I did the kiss test (around the time I saw the red ring on my upper lip)< b>Overall thoughts:<<<<<<
wear this again. The color is gorgeous and the color payoff is good. It’s also not drying which is always a bonus. 3 out of 5 stars for this product.<<<<<<

15 days of lipstick: Smashbox always on lipstick

I think smashbox is one of those first brands to have liquid lipsticks (I might be wrong but they were here for a long time already) and I’ve always wanted to try it. I got a deluxe sample size of it from my sephora give me more lip and was excited to try it on.

Product description

It comes in a rectangular acrylic tube with a black cover and the smashbox logo in front. The packaging is clear and you can see the color of the lipstick inside.

It costs 1,250 pesos in beauty bar (Philippines) and $24 in sephora US. It’s a little pricey but it’s in the mid-range level of brands.

I can say that this glides on smoothly. It has a mousse-like consistency which is viscous enough but is easy to manage. It’s thick consistency also helps in building up the color.

The doe foot applicator is also pointed at the end which helps in reaching the corners of the lips.

The middle part of the applicator also has an indent where the product can accumulate.

This has a subtle sweet scent to it which is barely noticeable during and after application. It feels lightweight but not the kind where you will not notice it. You know that there’s still something on your lips.

Color payoff

One swipe goodness. This is full coverage and would need just one swipe to get the full color. However, I noticed that the color became darker the longer you wear it.

Photo above: first application

I applied it around 7:30am and true to being a liquid lipstick, it’s matte and transferproof. Although when I wiped my nose it came off as well.

When I ate, I noticed that it was all erased and it was smudged all over my lips. It looked like a kid who ate spaghetti which is not a good look.

Photo above: after lunch

Overall thoughts

It was a good lipstick until it smudged all over after eating. I enjoyed the feel and the color. However, another con is that it changes color the longer you wear it. I think there are lipsticks which costs less and would have the same performance.

description from

I got mine from the Sephora Give Me More Lip kit so I didn’t really buy it at full price but as I checked in, it costs $20. I also checked shoppee for prices in the local market and it ranges from 650-1900 pesos (personally doubting the 650 Pesos one because compared to the sephora price that’s way too cheap.) It’s definitely not a drugstore brand so that price is expected.

Fortunately I got this in full size, it comes in a matte frosted glass or acrylic tube with a black cap. It has the huda beauty logo or name in front and you can see through the frosted component and see the actual color of the product. (See photo above)

It has a sweet scent to it, something like a vanilla cupcake which you can smell upon application and until it dries down but for me since it smells like food I don’t mind it. It’s not too potent to be annoying or distracting.

Since the packaging was longer than the usual liquid lipsticks that I have, it comes with a longer doe foot applicator but the actual sponge-y side that disposes the product is actually small than what I’m used to. It was also a bit rounded which can be less precise than the pointed ones. The longer wand also was difficult for me since just like holding a pencil I like to be closer to the tip, the one actually painting my lips.

However, the product itself glides on smoothly. It was a bit watery than the usual but that didn’t really affect the overall application of the product. It’s still fairly easy especially when you’re used to liquid lipsticks.

I needed to dunk in twice to cover my full lips (one dunk for the bottom and another for the upper lip).

Color payoff

I got mine in the shade bombshell which is a subtle pinkish nude. I’m a little skeptical about wearing this because it washes me out a little. It might be too nude for me. But hey color pay off, I can say it’s medium to full coverage. With one swipe it can cover the dark outline that I have on my lips as seen below.

This stays as long as other liquid lipsticks. It stays put and does not transfer until you eats. This is working just like your average liquid lipstick.

True to the description, this does feel lightweight at first and is not drying. However, upon wearing it for a few hours, I felt that it got a bit tacky when I purse my lips. It wasn’t something that would bother me but I just had to put it out there.

Overall Impression

Overall, this works just like any other liquid lipstick except that this doesn’t dry out your lips. Powdering it up when it gets tacky would probably do the trick if you are bothered by that feeling. This may be a little pricey though especially when tax and shipping would be included.
